Banff.

Greetings from the Banff Centre, where I am reading a 9-day Writer-in-Residency Retreat for the Writers Guild of Alberta.

There are 19 writers participating. I consult with the writers individually, deliver readings and two lectures, host Canadian film nights, organize music nights, provide optional writing exercises, etc.

In the photo below, Calgary writer Barbara Scott and I tune up for another night of music. I'm such a hack on guitar compared to her. Her version of Joni Mitchell's "Carey," is record-worthy.

In the five days here, I've managed to get out for a single walk to town. Banff's pretty in its winter wear.

The retreatants are a merry bunch; I feel most fortunate.
